Dear Readers,
It is a great pleasure to bring to you a plethora of the country's finest work in the field of interior design!!
This issue of Insite, dedicated to our flagship event – the IIID MK Awards – is sure to set our imagination and creativity on fire… I truly appreciate the participation of so many of our young and talented members, as I also thank the veteran participants for their continued support.
I congratulate Ar. Tushar Desai, the Chairman of the IIID Awards Committee and his team – for their relentless efforts and amazing enthusiasm. I also wish to convey my sincere thanks to all the leading architects of the country who set time aside to be a part of the jury this year.
Now that this great event is behind us, I would like to talk about the future of interior designing, the future of Indian interior designers – and the future of the IIID. I truly believe that participating in a design competition is a wonderful way of assessing your own worth, of knowing where you stand in the crowd. It is not meant to lower your self-esteem; but to give you an opportunity to rise to the level expected from you. Creating awareness about good design is one of the primary goals of the IIID and therefore I believe it is very necessary to see a lot more of our members participating in the competition; and I hope to see a lot more enthusiasm, next year!
I particularly want to encourage participation from the semi-urban areas and smaller towns, not only from the west zone, but also from the north, east, central and south zones. When we travel to various IIID Chapters and Centers, we see so much of talent and creative potential all around… It is time that all of you feel that burning desire to do your best, and compete with the best.
Warm Regards,
