Dear Members of the IIID Family,

We are almost at the end of the year, and I would like to extend Season’s Greetings to you all. As I look back and write this, I am satisfied at the year gone by – a great year for IIID, adding another memorable and meaningful page in the history book of IIID.

Not only did IIID grow in Members and Chapters – with the addition of Satara Centre launched in May this year – but we added value to our membership by achieving some memorable milestones. February saw IIID host APSDA 2012, catapulting the body into an internationally recognised design Institute. Invitations for collaborations followed. IIID was invited to participate in the International Design and Cultural Festival – IDCF – at Shenzhen in China in September, the theme being “Inheritance and Innovation”. We were then invited to collaborate with BNI, the Dutch Association of Interior Design, for hosting the World Interior Event – WIE – in September 2013. IIID plans to take a big contingent to attend the same in Amsterdam.

Back home, the Pune Regional Chapter completed its Silver Jubilee and launched year-long celebrations. It is truly a proud moment for us all! All the Chapters and Centres were present at the change of guard in July. With new teams at the helm, there is new vigour that will translate into new events in the coming year. The coming year fills me with hope and anticipation of great things to happen. IIID will be part of the mega show Vibrant Gujarat in January. In February, it will host its brand exhibition SHOWCASE in Mumbai, witnessing the mingling of the trade and the design fraternity. This only heralds the beginning of a GREAT NEW YEAR AHEAD! There will be a lot more to see and experience.

Friends, together let us make the coming year a greatly successful one, one where we exceed our own expectations. As part of our New Year resolutions, let care for our environment be on top of our minds. We must all resolve to make a positive difference to our environment. Plant trees, save power, reduce use of paper, save water and, above all, be humane. These simple things collectively will make a huge difference to our surroundings and to society at large.

As time ticks away, bringing us closer to the dawn of 2013, I heartily wish each and every one of you a VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR, a year full of peace, joy and fulfillment! Let’s all of us make the coming year a happening one!
