Ahmedabad-based artist Bharti Prajapati’s Kabir paintings

Award-winning artist Bharti Prajapati was born in 1962, in Vadodara, Gujarat. Having studied textile design at Sophia Polytechnic, Mumbai and the National Institute of Design (NID) Ahmedabad, she worked as a textile designer for 10 years. Later returning to explore her long-time passion – painting – Prajapati’s work has strong philosophical overtones.

A Visit to Houseum, Ahmedabad

A portmanteau of the words house and museum, ‘houseum’ in Ahmedabad is a collection of locks, clocks and puzzles lovingly curated by Dr. Hiren Shah, and creatively displayed by his wife Dr. Namita Shah. Houseum as it stands today, has on display a splendid collection of 10,000 plus rare antiques as well as contemporary artworks by artists like Amit Ambalal, M. F. Hussain, and S. H. Raza.
